LG Wireless Phone

Will a universal cell phone battery charger work for me?

My cell phone is an LG Chocolate. Recently the piece inside the phone that connects the charger to the battery (allowing for the phone to be charged) broke. So, once my phone loses it's charge, that will be it. My Verizon contract is up in June, and I was planning on switching to AT&T, so I do not want to pay full price for another phone (and Verizon charges A LOT for P.O.S. phones). A co-worker suggested that I buy a universal cell phone battery charger to get me through until June. What kind do I need to buy for the LG Chocolate? Are they expensive? Where am I able to purchase one? Thanks in advance for your help! There isn't a problem with the battery. The universal chargers I am asking about are the type that you remove your battery from the phone and place it into the charger. The problem I am having is the one little piece that the cord charger surrounds when it is plugged into the phone. That little piece broke lose and fell out.

  1. Since it's the phone itself that is broke, unfortunately a universal cell phone charger will not solve your problem, because the charger would need to be able to make a complete connection with the battery in order to charge it. If you have a wireless store near you, go into their store, and ask them if you qualify for a free upgrade, you may be able to get a cheap phone for a short period of time. If you find out that you do not qualify for an update, you can ask them if they are able to repair the phone, exchange the phone (if it's under warranty), or see what other options they give you. The Wireless Store owned by Verizon is your best place to get this question answered, they will come up with a short term solution for you, that is within your budget, and they will make sure that you can safely use the phone. Using the phone while it is broken, especially when it comes to the battery area of the phone, can be extremely dangerous. Trying to force a charger, universal charger, or some other charging device into the phone can cause further damage to the phone, electrical shock, or even fire.
