is it okay to use your cell phone without the battery?
i have a Razr and i was fiddling with the battery and took it out while it was charging and realized that the phone stays on. i even tried calling someone and it worked still all without the battery. the only thing different was that screen had "unable to charge" on it. so, i was just wondering if this could harm my phone or not. i know some cell phones require the battery because my old LG didn't work like that.

- It's fine, don't worry about it. Your battery might become "lazy" if you constantly use the phone while it's charging (with the battery in there) but really you have nothing to worry about.
- If the phone stays on and will let you use it then there shouldn't be a problem. If it would cause a problem then Motorola wouldn't make it possible for the phone to be on without the battery. It is probably a new feature manufacturers are adding for some reason that is oblivious to us.
- Using the phone while is plug in with no battery will not hurt it at all. Modern phones have setups that allow multipule methods of power. Your phone draws power from what is there, it does not care if you have a battery in or not, just that it has power going to it. In fact its better for you battery if it is not on a constant load and modern batterys lose there effectivness over time if left charging all the time.
