what does it mean when your cell phone still says battery charging when its not plugged in ? its a LG X5550?

what could be the problem with this phone and can it be repaired?

1. it means you should take it back to the dealer where you bought it. But first, try turning it off and taking the battery out for a few minutes. Check and clean all the contacts and then put it back and fire her up one more time. It might just be a one-off that will clear and may not happen again, if you're lucky.
