What verizon phones with wifi but not smart phone(no data plan) will be released christmas 2009? I like a lot of Verizon's phones but then i come to find out they are a smart phone which means having to pay for a monthly data plan and i just don't want to do that...but id enjoy having wifi...is there even a phone or is there going to be one?

Verizon phone with WiFi, but no Data Plan? I'm a college student, on campus all the time, and I don't need a stupid phone that has internet 24/7 nor do I have the money to pay over $360 a year for internet fees. I'm looking for a Verizon Smartphone that has Wi-Fi but does not require that stupid Data Plan they are forcing on all the good phones nowadays. The "Sharp KIN TWOm" is the only smartphone I've found that has Wi-Fi, but doesn't require the data. Anyone know of any other ones? If it's old, I don't really care. I'm using a Palm Centro right now. In other words, I'm looking for a wifi phone that is at least as good as the Centro, preferably better. 10 hours ago --- And to all the wise guys out there, I know that the TWOm is not a "smart phone" by Verizon's standards, but you know what the heck I mean.

I just got the samsung sch 760 for verizon wireless and it has wifi, i was wondering if there was any way to use the wifi without being charged for data as i used it once by accident and was charged per kb. I've heard that you can do it from removing any data plan from your phone, but i have no idea whether that would be possible or how to do it if it is possible. Can I use a Motorola Devour (Verizon) phone for Wifi connection only (with no cell plan/coverage)? in a verizon wireless phone, what do they mean with wifi? im getting a verizon smart phone sometime this week and i'm not very tech-savvy so im a little confused. in the moto q, one of my two options, the way you get on the internet is data, right? which costs money for every minute you use it. however, in the samsung i760, it says there is wi-fi. so does that mean it will connect to whatever internet connection there is anywhere i am? and will that cost money?

Will my phone use data if i'm connected to wifi and verizon? Okay here's my problem. I know how to connect to wifi and turn off the Verizon network. But when in turning off the verizon network, I am unable to call or text. Is this normal? When I am connected to Wifi and Verizon both, i can call and text. I would like a phone with Wifi. It would also be a major plus if it was touch screen or had a qwerty keyboard. This has to be verizon. I see the that Blackberry bold is for ATT only and the Blackberry Storm (for whatever reason) will not include Wifi. Im lookign at the Samsung i760...cuz it has all the features + WM6 which is cool too..but the front of the phone looks..ugly...like they ran out of room for all the buttons. Looking for a phone similar to iPhone but for Verizon....need WiFi??? I am a verizon customer and love their service, but also like the feature of the iPhone. Will Verizon require me to get a data plan if I purchase Wifi phone? I bought a HTC VX6800 off Ebay and my dad got the HTC Touch Pro. Both phones have WiFi but we heard some rumors about Verizon requiring us to purchase data plans if we had WiFi phones. Is this true? It's not that I don't want internet and email but I don't need any of those things. I don't want to pay extra for something I won't be using often or at all. Should I just get a different phone?

What Verizon phone is better the Blackberry Storm or the Samsung Omnia and why? i have the storm right now but i live in a crapy area so i miss the wifi but idk if going to the omnia is worth ditching blackberry or not just for wifi... need help people!!! i want something thats touch screen, wifi, instant messengers, and a good camera with flash! i might wait for the storm 2 and the new Blackberry Tour is CRAP so dont suggest that please!

I can't get internet where I live at verizon has a wireless wifi connection that you plug right into your lapt? I can't get internet at my house dial up is not a option verizon has a usb wireless modem for wifi anywhere as long as cell phone service is available but they run a credit check is there any where that doesn't run a credit check? Also is the wirelss modem usb wifi worth it does it work well?
Can a cell phone or even a 5.8 Ghz phone cause WIFI interference? I noticed a few times that my WIFI signal dropped when my cell phone rang. The service is Verizon and the phone is an LG 8100vx. Also, just recently, my signal dropped during a phone call on my 5.8 Ghz phone. Could some frequencies on either end up on the 2.4 Ghz range, such as for synchronizing for example? Thanks. BTW, I did try all the obvious remedies for wifi interference prior.

What are some of the coolest Verizon Phones? I'm looking for a phone to replace my razr, I want a smart phone that is a lot like my iPod Touch, something that has a lot of cool apps, plays music/video, and can surf the web. A phone that is good for texting is another plus. Every time my phone rings my wifi gets weak? In my house, if I am playing call of duty online, and the phone rings i get disconnected. when i am on my psp internet i get disconnect. if somebody uses a laptop they are disconnected when the phone rings. or if you just press talk on the phone, the wifi gets weak. i have a motorola surfboard cable modem(optimum online) and a verizon actiontec router hooked up to it tot get wifi. my mom kept the router after we switched.
What is the best phone available for Verizon network? I do a fair bit of texting and love taking pics and vids on my phone (i have the Envy now but my plan is expiring for a new phone). The Storm looked appealing but the click screen has had a bad rap so far. I'd also like a good phone for internet browsing (www.) (WIFI would be awesome). any suggestions?
