Charging cradle for a belkin skype wifi phone? Hi, i have a BELKIN skyle wifi phone and am looking for a charging cradle for it. i have looked everywhere. Any one no where i can get one from. Please 10 POINTS AND BEST ANSWER if any one can answer.

Can you change the MAC address on the Belkin WIFI phone for Skype? 3 answers and all seem to miss the point. A very many devices allow you to change your MAC address, and there are many reasons you would want to do it. #1 with a wifi phone, since you don't have a browser, you can't access browser authenticated sites. If you can change your MAC address you can authenticate with one device (such as my iPod touch), then shut down that device and use the wifi phone on the iPods MAC address. Please people, only answer if you understand networks and are sure of your answer. I am not convinced that the first 3 answers have addressed my question.

Whatever happened to the Belkin wifi Skype phone? It's been in my Amazon cart, on pre-order,for at least 4 months. I saw on Ebay tonight it's available in the UK, but wondering why it never came out here. Anyone have an ETA?

Have you used a WiFi Skype phone? I've just purchased the neat black Belkin WiFi phone. It's PC independent - so the computer doesn't even need to be switched on - it works directly off my router. Thing is, the quality isn't at all good. I know Skype phones are relatively new and, maybe I was expecting too much for my money, but nevertheless..... Almost 100% of people I call say, "I don't know what's wrong but, everything I'm saying is being repeated back at me". So now, every time I make a call, I start out by announcing that I'm using an internet phone, to stop them saying anything. It's a real bore. What might be just a 2 minute call, is often 4 minutes instead. Anyone having the same or similar experience, please? BTW: I'm in London, UK.

Belkin router blinking green? and wifi-capable phone won't connect? I have been trying to connect my wifi-capable phone (HTC Inspire) to my wireless router. It found it when I typed in the SSID and password, but says it's out of range. I don't know why, because I'm in my house... So I temporarily took off the security for the router, thinking its blocking my phone. But when I did that, it started blinking green, and now even my Playstation3 that was once hooked up to it won't even connect to it now.Also, now when I tried to turn the security settings back on, by right clicking the Belkin icon in the task bar then clicking router settings (thats how I always do, that's the route I took when I turned off the security) but it only takes me to router.com. Not to the settings for the router like it used to before I turned off the security things.I also tried unplugging the power source to the router. Still blinking green. I also tried pushing the reset button on the back of it, but that didn't work either. And I unplugged the router, turned off the computer, then turned it back on, then plugged the router back in. But STILL nothing. I've said as much detail as I could think of. Please, can anyone help me with this? I really need to get this fixed.

My wifi and phone are on the same frequency? Whenever someeone talks on the phone, the wifi in my house goes out. I am certain this is the problem. Its a windows 6.0 mobile phone, and i have a belkin N router. -i have no firewals. and my other laptops conncet flawlessly to it. except for my tilt and my 8525. my other windows mobile 5.0 pda connects just fine with my wifi. Cannot access wifi using the belkin router F5d7234 through my nokia n96. Please help!? I bought this router Belkin F5d7234-4-H V5. I did the required set ups and it works fine on my desktop (wired connection) and also on my laptop (wireless connection), but I can't access it via my cell phone (Nokia N96). The Wireless light on my Belkin N150 wifi router keeps flashing when I try to connect my laptop? Ive had the router for months now with no trouble and then all of a sudden it wont work. My phone connects to the wifi no problem, and my pc still has internet but as soon as i try to connect my laptop to the wifi the wireless light on the router starts flashing orange and the laptop says that it cannot connect. ive tried resetting the settings on the laptop, restarting all the computers and the modem. Belkin wireless adapter windows 7? I have just installed windows 7 ultimate 32-bit on my mothers desktop.She had xp previously and the belkin wifi adapter worked fine.I phoned belkin support and after a lengthy conversation i was informed there is no driver available for windows 7 at present. My mum also has a belkin wireless router.I want to know if i can buy any type of wifi adapter/dongle to be compatible with this set up or do i have to stick with the belkin brand because the router is belkin? The adapter is a F5D8051 Belkin. Any help would be much appreciated. How do i load the driver for vista?

How to fix my Belkin wifi adapter? ? I've had my adapter (USB) for about 8 months or so, and about 2 months ago it started going really slow. I had this problem with the same model adapter, so I took it back and got a replacement, thinking its just a fault. Exact same problem with this one. The adapter becomes hot to touch after about 2 minutes of being plugged into my pc. When it's hot it is very slow, and as a result, I'm typing this on my phone. I know it isn't just the router, as we have another pc downstairs, with faster Internet. What can I do to make it work properly again? Thanks.

Belkin 54G WiFi router refuses to connect to a 802.11n wifi device? My Gateway laptop with Win XP, my daughter's netbook also with Win XP and my son's MAC notebook computers all connect to this router using WiFi with out difficulty. However, my son's and my son-in-law's smart phones that use 802.11n refuse to connect. My wife bought a new netbook computer also using 802.11n and it also refuses to connect. I asked Belkin but they wanted to blame signal strength. It is not signal strength! My wife's netbook was in the same room with the router when it would not connect. I think it has something to do with the 11n vs 11g. Perhaps the Belkin is not compatible with 11n. They are also less than timely in their responses. I am hoping that the YAHOO! answers community can come up with the answer more promptly. Is there a setting on the Belkin or on the 11n device that I can change to make this work? Is there firmware I can install on the Belkin? (It should be noted that I have checked several times for firmware updates and found none.) A Dell netbook was purchased to replace the returned Acer one. This new computer is due to arrive today and I don't want to have to tell my wife that this brand new computer also will not connect to our WiFi. Thanks AJ. I bit the bullet last night and bought a Netgear wireless N router. It cost $50 and took 20 minutes to install. All is working as it should now. It bugged me that the Belkin would not work with these devices and no one could tell me why. I was able to connect to a neighbor's belkin but not my own. But that is all water under the bridge now. Why won't my ipod, tablet and cell phone connect to my WIFI? I have a Belkin Wireless router in my home that provides my WiFi. My Dell lap top works fine with the network and I have no probelms using the network, however, my daughters iPod, my cell phone and my new Samsung Galaxy tab will not connect to my WiFi network. Skype user & echo problem? Anyone on here use skype? Is it normal to get a echo on the call. I have high speed broadband and when i call a mobile phone using skype out i get a echo. My wifi devices aren't working with my Belkin! Why? ok so i have two desktops that are not wifi compatible. so was i did was hook my modem to my linksys then added 3 wires. two going to my desktops and one to my wireless belkin. now my desktop and my belkin both have internet. yay =] BUT!! now i have a new problem =[ aawww.... my cell phone and ipod (which both have wifi compatibility) working. i put my password on both and they both say that i am connected. so when i tried to go on the internet they wont work! please is there a way to fix this?

Does anyone have an idea of why my phone won't connect to my router thru wifi? My Samsung Galaxy 2 won't connect to my Belkin router (F5D7230-4) thru the wifi connection. It previously had connected fine, but I'd reset the router today & changed the password. I'm able to connect with no problems (thru wifi or regular connection) on my pc. I went to my Belkin router page and have looked at my MAC settings (only option it gives is to clone, which I tried), I've also tried changing the password....my phone also gave me the option of hitting the WPS button on my router within 2 minutes, which I did, but it would not configure automatically as it was supposed to. When I try to get on, on my phone, it'll say connecting, then authenticating, then eventually disable. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Belkin Router With Vonage Problem? I have a Linksys RT31P2 which is connected to my modem and my phone. I connected a Belkin G Wireless F5D7234-4 to the Linksys with an ethernet cable. And then i connected the belkin to my computer. The phone works but only 2 lights turn on on the Belkin (the router and the wired lights). Wifi on Sony Ericsson W995? Hi, I have a Belkin router, which has wifi alliance, we bought the router in April 09. Its setup is on WPA- Personal. 3 laptops are connected to it and work fine. I've recently bought a W995 on Orange and it doesn't seem to connect. I have no problem in finding the router, i input the password to the router and it comes up with can't connect to network. My question is, is the router set up wrong, which isn't allowing my phone to connect to it - OR is there a problem with the wifi on the phone. I can't imagine this being the problem, just our router not set up properly seems more likely. I have trawled through some web forums, and some have said about SE having a problem with wifi or that you need the WEP key to connect to wifi? Anyone got any ideas - would be appreciated. Chloe. Belkin G Wireless router.? I just bought a belkin g wireless router. I have a cable internet connection. I am unable to access 192.186.2.1 and its getting a little annoying now. I have connected my internet connection through the router. I can surf the internet. But I cannot browse my router settings. I cannot connect my wifi enabled phone or my laptop to the router. I tried re-setting but its of no use. When i wire the internet connection through my router the internet works, when I disconnect the wire between the router and the laptop the internet doesn't work (note the cable internet line is connected to the router) can somebody help in some troubleshooting? yeah i meant 192.168.2.1 i tried 192.168.1.1 but still tht didn't help

Why doesn't my Belkin router give me my wireless internetttttttttt! D:<? So for about a year now, I've been having the same problem with belkin router: NO WIRELESS INTERNET. It has bewildered me for quite sometime as to why I cannot use the wireless internet I've died for. When using my laptop or PSP to scan the area for wireless internet, I usually get 'Belkin54g', along with other locals. Belkin is the one I own, obvs, and I can't use it. I'm tremendously frustrated. But father, and purchaser or evil router, doesn't have the password key shitzel either. He would use it for his WiFi grabbing phone. My wifi is too slow, what shall i do? I have a belkin router with a cable modem downstairs and upstairs my internet is too slow, it takes forever to load. I have reset the router thousands of times, i have used all different channels and it still takes forever to load. But on my mobile phone which i use from the same place as my computer, has no problems at all, the internet always loads fast. So is something wrong with my computer or do i need a new wireless adaptor?

Connecting smartphone to home wifi..? [ i have the htc evo 4g shift. and my router is Belkin. ] Anyway on my phone i went to my wifi settings and it scanned and found wifi networks. I clicked on mine and it had me type in my password and then said "authenticating with belkin_network". a few seconds later it said disconnected. Everytime I go to my wifi settings and try to connect to it, i dont need to type the password since its remembered but i click on it and it says "scanning...", then "connecting..." , "authenticating with belkin_network..." and then "disconnected". I have never been able to connect. Im pretty sure its something with the router like i dont know how to allow this device because two other family members tried to connect and the same exact thing happened.. so does anyone else have a belkin router or know how i can get it to allow my phone to connect ? i would reallyy apppreciate some helpp :] theres not much else i can say about it but i know the password is correct because when i used it on my laptop to connect it worked fine. but i will try to follow what you said i tried going to all of those default gateways and none of them will load.

Problem with wifi and my tmobile blackberry 8120? Sometimes I want to switch over from wifi (UMA) to EDGE because sometimes when there's too much traffic the phone call will sound really bad. So sometimes ill unplug the router and sometimes ill turn off the wifi from the phone while im on the phone call. however, whenever i do this, the call will get disconnected. the call wont get disconnected if I simply walk "out of range" from the router, which is outside my house and my business. Im not using a tmobile branded router for this. I'm using belkin and linksys, and the same problem is occurring on both routers. I would appreciate any help Thanks

Why can't my 2 computers can't access the same website at the same time? I have comcast internet and a Belkin router with 2 computers connected to it along with a ipod touch and a wifi enabled cell phone. If one of the devices is on like google or craiglist it will work just fine but the other computers can't connect. Any Ideas? My ISP is Comcast. It's cable internet.

Belkin N1 Wireless Router Problems? I have owned a N1 router for about 6 months now and it has worked fine, only occasionally needing a restart. I got a Sony c905 for christmas with wifi. The phone could connect to the router and access internet. But for some strange reason, yesterday the phone could not find the router when I turned wifi on. I then restarted the router and still no networks found. I thought it was my phone and reset everything on it. It then still found no networks. My uncle came round and he has wifi on his phone and he could not find any networks either. So i reset the router and entered all the connection settings again. It is now back on the internet but my phone still cant find it. Whats even stranger, is that our computers can easily find and connect to the wireless, yet these phones that once could connect to it, cant. Does anybody know of any settings that need changing, or have any advice? Thanks

Wifi bad in one room? Hello Everyone, Here's my situation. My room is roughly 30 feet away from our wireless router. I use it to surf the web on my laptop, ipod, and play my Xbox 360. It was working perfectly until about 3 weeks ago. We went on vacation for a few nights and unplugged the surge protector along with everything else before we left. Well, when we got back, my internet was normal until a few days later. I usually had a three to four bar in my room, now the most I can get is a measly two bar. I tried adjusting the channels and opening different ports. Eventually we purchased a new router, replacing our Netgear with a Belkin. The connection in my room is still horrible. Also, when the phone rings, the WiFi completely disconnects until the call has ended. We have been using cable for the past five years and it hasn't ever given us this many problems. I appreciate any answers or suggestions you guys have. Cheers No furniture was moved. The monitor, computer, modem, and router are all within a few feet of each other. Also my house is about 130 years old with thin wooden walls. Should I buy a booster, repeater or is there another solution???

New Iphone 3gs is not working with home wifi? I have wifi at home which my laptop is connected to, and another iphone has access to. However, I just bought this Iphone 3GS and for some reason it will not enter in the correct IP address on my wifi information on the phone. It says its connected, but the IP address is incorrect. I am using a Belkin router with the address 192.168.2.1 which shows that guests are able to connect as long as they have my password. However, when typing in the password on my iphone, it shows im connected but it doesnt work since it connects with the wrong IP address. I've tried everything that I know how to do, like renewing the lease on the iphone and forgetting the network. Also have tried putting it on airplane mode then taking it off and connecting again. Nothing thus far has worked. I am able to connect to other networks just fine. Any ideas?

Which Wifi router to buy for long range? I am having a problem. My wifi router is situated at one end of the house (Phone line does not extend any further!) and my computers are placed in the basement which is at the other end at 50 feet distance. I am using the very standard Bettel wifi router which is unable to transmit the signals down to the basement. Belkin N1 Wireless Modem-Router Wireless Help!? Hey, i've got a Belkin N1 Wireless Modem-Router and had it for about a year now and recently its had some dificuilties wirelessly. I turn my wifi on on my blackberry and try to scan for networks but it says none found, the "Broadcast SSID" is turned on and when change the name of the SSID or turn the router off then back on it connects to my phone but then it loses connection after about 2 minutes. My SSID had no spaces in and 2 capital letters in and my wireless channel is set to 6 but i've never had this problem before, can someone help me?

I turn my wifi on on my blackberry and try to scan for networks but it says none found, the "Broadcast SSID" is turned on and when change the name of the SSID or turn the router off then back on it connects to my phone but then it loses connection after about 2 minutes. My SSID had no spaces in and 2 capital letters in but i've never had this problem before, can someone help me? Thanks.

WiFi connection and download speed slooooooow HELP PLZ!? I got stuck at a relatives place who doesn't have any internet so besides my dumb phone that can't tether legally or even at all. I have had to resort to my laptop using wifi at public libary and park via free wifi spots. I KNOW alot of people aren't using these spots enough for it to make my download speed slow down so low. The first day is when i got my laptop i connected with built in downloading 500mb file 24mins. Over the 5 days it slowed down and it is downloading at 3kb to 12kb and yes I do mean KB not mb. What is wrong????? I tried my built in Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN minicard and a Belkin N wireless usb adapter. I even built a antenna and wether its 1 bar or all 5 bars of a connection the download speeds the same. Also im runnin windows vista 64 bit version.

wifi network connections? I have a Dell PC using XP and have bought a Dell Laptop using Vista. The PC modem/router is D-Link DSL504T and the wireless router is a Belkin G Router. I want to be able to access internet/email on either computer at the same time. I also have a D-Link DVG2001S phone router for voip. The instructions provided do not seem to allow this. I have a belkin wireless router that I have to keep rebooting and I don't know why ?? Help please !!? The router keeps needing to reboot for me to use wifi on my laptop and my I phone but it stays on for my ps3 and my 2 nd p.c that I run wireless ..???? WIFI Protected Setup PIN, required only on Windows. Why can my other devices connect without it? A few weeks ago, I configured a Linksys router that supports WPS (Wifi Pain-in-the-arse Setup). I disabled the WPS so it wouldn't ask for a PIN and enabled only WPA2 key access. However, on Windows Vista and 7 machines in the network are still required to enter a PIN to properly connect. Linux devices, Blackberry and Android phones do not require the PIN. The Blackberry asks for a PIN but the user can simply hit cancel and the device automatically connects using only the WPA key information. Why is this? It sounds like WPS is a poorly implemented standard. I also have had the same experience with a WPS capable (also disabled) Belkin router. These windows machines use Intel wireless cards, is there sort of issue with these cards? The model in my laptop is a 4950AGN. I apologize for not having the model numbers for these routers. To answer a common stupid question, I HAVE ensured I am trying to connect to the proper APs (they each have distinctive SSID'S)

How do you enable SSID broadcast on a N+ Wireless Belkin Router? I have an itouch, and when i go to Settings>>General>>Wifi , i dont see my wifi network. I have called Apple Customer service and they told me to unplug the router and plug it back in and reset the settings on the ipod. i did that and it didnt work. the people at Apple told me that my router isnt broadcasting the wifi and they told me to call the router manufacture. I did but it wont work (the phone call is messed up) and soo i just wanted to know if i can enable SSID broadcast WITHOUT calling the people.... Any ideas?? please i really need help oh and the wifi connects with my computer(s) and its not a problem with my ipod because my sisters have an itouch too and theirs wont connect either.. help!! i logged into the router... now what do i do?

Your opinion/experience on stock "long range" wifi? Ok, I'm using trial-and-error to adjust my wifi for maximum range possible...with ALL STOCK "home" grade router, firmware, and omnidirectional antenna (belkin if you care)...and one repeater with a 7db gain omni antenna. I'm adjusting the position (location), B+G / B-Only mode, and placing the repeater at a window (aluminum window screen removed). I'm in a rural area so I'm sticking with channel 11 - there's nothing else to interfere really (no other networks and the phones are 900MHz/5.8GHz...no other 2.4GHz equipment I know of) so I don't see reason to change it. My hope is to shoot about 400-700 feet out the window, *maybe* through one tree without outdoor or modified equipment on the router, repeater, or laptop. So, I'm wondering what others' experiences are? What do you think the best mix is? Both real-world-experience and theoretical answers are fine...

Belkin to Netgear home wireless network help needed!!?!? OK I am new to all this so I do need specific information on this. The setup: DOWNSTAIRS I have the internet coming into my house into my virgin media router (netgear) and also plugged into the router is my sony bluray player and I can access the internet wirelessly with my laptop and mobile phone. UPSTAIRS I have my PC that I can get the wifi signal strong enough. The problem now begins.. I also have a western digital mybook world white light 2tb edition and a wdtv live. I want to use my belkin router UPSTAIRS so I can plug in the pc, wdtv and mbwe. I then want the belkin router to speak to the netgear down stairs and bring the internet up to me. Firstly I am not sure if it is possible to do this but cannot see why not. I need help on getting this sorted as I will also want to play the media from the mbwe on my sony bluray player as I am currently having to take it downstairs to do this. I have also been thinking of getting a netgear powerline as I hear they got very little to no interference and this would be better than the wifi signal I get upstairs. BTW it is not possible to put a wire from one end of the house to the other upstairs it just isnt going to happen. So please can someone help?? The wifi method is what I really want to get done and if that is not possible I want to go for the powerline (last resort) I have plugged the belking into the netgear with ethernet to see if it can access internet but I do not know what to tell it to do as its not getting it. Wifi and Bluetooth connection? I have a Belkin wireless router, and connected with my PC via network cable connection. (192.168.1.1) and my Nokia 2690 connected with cable and internet shared with PC. Can I connect my Bluetooth connection to my router? Like bluetooth dongle emulator or any thing like a Virtual Port? ( I lost my Bluetooth dongle) I try the Gnubox. Nokia 2690 not support the gnubox.sis file. And I also try the hiisi1.6.3 it is also not working with the said phone.

My internet is too slow, could the router be problem or my network card? I am on virgin media cable connection, the cable connects to modem and then ethernet cable connects to modem and the other end of ethernet cable connects to the router, and another ethernet cable connects to router and other end to back of my parents computer's tower. So i can get internet fine on my parents computer. But upstairs on my computer with wifi, so when i connect to my router, it connects fine but the signal is very low, even though i have changed the routers SSID to number 1, then 6, then 11. The signal is always low and internet is slow, sometimes the signal loses connection and my computer gets disconnected from wifi so i cant use the internet. I have reset the router and modem several times. My router is wireless N+ and the network adaptor card installed on my computer is wireless G. And the router and computer upstairs are only like 15 meters apart. Why would this be a problem when routers SSID is set to number 1 which is the furthest the signal can go. Also i dont think my router is interfering with my neighbours router because i my computer does even find the neigbours wifi so i think the neighbours dont have a router. My mobile phone has wifi and works fine when im upstairs, it also works faster when i downstairs which is nearer the router. Only problem is the youtbe is slow on my mobile when im upstairs but on my computer, youtube would take ages to buffer. What could the problem be, the router or my computers network card? My router is belkin wireless n+ which i have heard belkins are the worst routers out there. But i dont really know what my problem is. Please help

How do I access my router's settings? I have a Belkin Enhanced Wireless Router, Model #: F6D4230-4 V3. When I enter in the usual '192.168.2.1' it gives me the MODEM's settings. My modem is a SpeedStream 4200 by Seimens. I've had MANY problems with my router at the beginning... but managed to fixed them with the help of Belkin Support. The source of the problems stemmed from a problem with the compatibility of my modem. I forget the exact problem, but it was something about my modem acting as the router...? Recently my wifi password was changed somehow. I dont know how it got changed, but it isn't what it used to be. I need to access the settings page for the router in order to change my password back. I would like to avoid having to reset my router, as the problems that took many hours on the phone with Belkin will come back. Thank you for your time. Yes, my router is not connected properly, by order of Belkin. My current setup is: Internet source>Modem>Router (not the correct jack)>Computer I say not the correct jack because there are several jacks on my router. One is for the modem and the rest are for other connections. I was instructed to connect my modem into one of the other jacks, and my computer into the modem jack. The technical support supervisor at Belkin instructed me to do that. With the 'proper connection' of the modem to the modem port, and the computer to the 'Wired' or LAN port, I was unable to get any internet on my computer. None of the suggested addresses work. This, I believe, is a problem router, and has been nothing but trouble since the day I un-boxed it. You have been a great help, but i believe it's just a problem with the router-modem combination. UPDATE: Upon further inspections, switching the modem and the computer inputs around doesn't seem to effect the internet connection (on the computer at least, I can't access the wifi because the password changed). So the connection below seems to work as well. Internet source> Modem> Router (modem port)> Router ('wired' port)> Computer NOTE: this new connection layout still gives me the MODEM's settings page with the address 192.168.2.1

Suddenly, I am not able to access certain websites on my computer, but my internet connection is fine. Ideas? Suddenly, I am not able to access web twitter on my computer at homw on any of the browsers I've tried: explorer 8 which is my default browser, firefox and even google chrome which I installed for testing purposes. I can access twitter via hootsuite.com. I am also able to access twitter via twitdroid on my phone using the wifi on my home connection. It looks like something is preventing twitter from connecting. It would load the website, soon after I've rebooted my computer but then I am not able to post any updates from it and the website wouldn't load until I reboot my computer and it just loads that one time. I also have tweetdeck on my computer: It feeds my timeline through but I am not able to post any updates also, message freezes or triggers a 'network error' as if I don't have internet going through it, although I am still able to see the updates of the people I am following. I have disabled my firewall for a very brief moment to see if that was causing the problem but it's not. Other than that, my internet connection is fine, quite fast, 10 meg, can access all other websites but not web twitter. Anything I need to check. I've rang both my isp (plus.net) and my router (belkin) people, but they told it's beyond their remit and they haven't been able to help me. Any pointers you may have would be greatly appreciated. No RGB input signal when I install a network card? Hil all, I am trying to install dad's BT Home Hub 2.0 and thereby replacing his old BT voyager 210 ADSL router on his XP desktop system. His base unit did not have an ethernet port so installed a Belkin 10/100 PC1 Desktop Network card for wired ethernet connection. The hub works work, the wifi is fine as I can pick up the signal on my phone, but the monitor now fails to work. It says RGB no input signal. The AMW monitor is connected as before via the VGA plug. The variable now is the insertion of the network card. Will I now need to connect via a V1 plug? Looking at other posts ... There does not appear to be a manual overide for VGA OR dv1 inputs. Anyone have any ideas?

802.11b or 802.11g mode for repeater? I have a Belkin WURE repeater with a D-Link high-gain omnidirectional antenna. I'd like to set this up so I can connect back to MY network (printers, internet, file-sharing) when I'm over at the neighbor's house (probably 500-1000 feet) visiting...quite often since I've been building a nature trail with them. Maybe even use it to extend WiFi from their house to a camping platform we built (planning to camp out and watch movies some time, WiFi would be an extra). I know I can get the distance but I only recieve it at about 25-30% strength maximum. My question is whether it would be better to use 802.11g mode (default) or 801.11b mode to achieve the maximum clarity over the distance. I'm at a loss, I've read that G has crosstalk interference handeling but B is slower so I think it may perform better (hearing larger percentage of packets). Previously, I'd found that B is less friendly with 2.4GHz cordless phones although it can work and G just stops working with the phone on. Yep, it's signal not speed. I guess the bigger question is which mode should work best at lowest signal... I can "see" the network all the way down to 12% strength but it only connects above 20% and packet loss makes it unusable until 30% in G mode. Trial-and-error takes a while but works...just hoping to find someone with a techie explaination of what should be best :)

Wireless router problems? This is going to take a bit of explaining. I get internet through my cell phone (verizon) via usb. The internet is listed as a dial-up account on network connection. I share the connection with my lan port (I play xbox live this way), and plug it into the internet port on my wireless belkin g router. The router is not connecting to the internet, I find this odd because my xbox connects to the internet just fine this way. By sharing the connection with the lan port i'm basically sending internet out of my ethernet port rather than internet coming in. Is there a certain setting I need to turn on or set, would a static ip work, can anybody help me with my situation? I want to use the wifi on my ipod is the reason for asking. My AIM is Cheez6008 if anybody can help me out.

My gf's iPhone 3GS won't find my home network, yet alone connect to it..? We just got her a new iPhone last week, and I was keen as to get it back home, connect it to my wifi network, and then get some free apps, however connecting it to my home network wasn't as easy as I was hoping. I have a wifi network created by a Belkin Wireless N Modem/Router, and I have SSID set to broadcast, so it should be showing up. However, when I go into the settings and wifi, it won't ever show my home network. If I click on Other, and type in all the details correctly, it still won't let me connect. I downloaded an app (using the data downloads on the phones plan) called eWiFi, and when running that, it found a hidden network, didn't have the name on it, but I went into it and tried to connect, but it didn't seem to get into it cuz it just sat at 'connecting to network' for quite a few minutes.
