Can i use my old "pay as you go" phone with my new plan and number? I previously had a pay as you go phone plan from cingular/att&t, and my account expired. So i was wondering if anybody knew if i can just use the same phone i used for the old account, for my new account im going to set up? Cant you just switch the sim cards out? or is it required that i buy a completely new phone?
Does anyone know if it is legal for a company to add an old bill? to a new one even though it is basically the same company now. for instance and ATT cell phone that cut off due to a sister in law adding phones without consent and having an $800 bill over 2 years ago and now having a Cingular cell phone for the same period since the phone got cut off? Nothing has ever been said and I have fought with ATT for 2 years now. I have had Cingular for those 2 years and now they are saying they are going to add that bill to my current one. Can they do that? Should I make ATT Send me the signed contracts or what can I do this is BS if you ask me cause I thought it was taken off my account because it was actually hers. I just wanted to let ya'll know she did use my account without me knowing because the only way I found out was when I got the bill, this wasn't the first time she has done this because she got electricity and a credit card using her mothers name and no one has done anything with ID theft because it will cause such a ruckus in the family. She went to the local ATT store where she knew someone who I later found out got fired but without her turning the phones in ATT left it at that, and like you said told me because what was done was done and my responsilbilty but it is kinda hard to find her cause as soon as i found out she moved to tennesse Also, ATT won't send me the copies of the signed contracts so I can prove to the Police that it is her signature not mine on the added phones and such.
Very old Cell phone plan being overcharged !? I originally got a cell phone plan with Cingular about 10 years ago. Obviously now they are att. The plan is so old that when I call to find out plan details no one there seems to know the answers. My mother has been paying the bills for our family plan. I just recently created an online account and see in the past 6-7 months they have been tacking on fees fees and fees. They say our rollover minutes only apply to night and weekend!!! How crazy is that. Anyway, I am going to call them and get this straightened out. How should I go about this. I want money back from the overage charges for the last 12 months. Do you think they will accommodate me? I should be grandfathered in to my good old deal but instead their incompetence is forcing me to pay for a current plan grrrrrrrr.
Blackberry 8800 Unlock Request? I have a US Cingular ATT/Cingular Blackberry 8800, but i currently have T-mobile network. I need to acquire the specific MEP code for my Blackberry, but i password protected my T-mobile account at some point and don't remember it. I'm leaving the country in the morning and would like to purchase pre-paid SIM cards as i go. My IMEI number for my phone is 354672014852956. If someone could contact either T-mobile or Cingular to acquire an MEP code for my phone that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Performing this action costs NOTHING. I really cant think of another reason as to why i haven't gotten a reply. It's a simple task that would help me out as I've already left out of town and am having to once again try to get help.
at&t prepay question? currently im looking into att prepay for a friend. with the phone that i had with verizon wireless, i had the monthly payments, without the contract. i went to the kiosk monthly and put the money in, right in the store. Now does att have a kiosk or something similar without having a bank account? also, any expirience with att prepay? how was it? Is att and cingular the same company now? thanx

Cingular/ ATT question...? So I have 3 lines on my phone plan with Cingular/ATT - 2 lines are on a family plan, and 1 is freestanding - the question that I have is - is it possible for me to block the other phones from getting the balance on the account - or for the two "accounts" to be billed separately, and the balances displayed differently on the phones? I.E - freestanding line receives only the balance they need to pay, and the 2 family plan ones get one that doesn't include the freestanding one? Any help is appreciated!

ATT Bill Past Due? I recieved my bill in the mail from ATT/Cingular and I sent the money off this past Monday. However, on the website att.com when I log in to my account, it is telling me my bill is passed due.. Surely ATT has recieved my money because my phones have not been shut off. Is the website acting up or what?
What can a person do when they are being grossly overcharged by their cell phone company? We have been overcharged by the thousands in the last year by ATT Cingular 2007 2008. For mistakes that they said they would fix yet never did. They did not adjust or credit our auto pay with free phone credit and did not reinburse our visa accounts. Yet instead they continued charging us the regular rates + the overcharges. In gross amounts exceeding our monthly charges that are normally supposed to be within the under 500 a month limit. Instead they charged us in the 1000's.Now we are being bounced back to different offices within the ATT corp. Because nobody seems to want to reinburse us back to our now, over the limit visa. How many of you have had the same problems?. Instead they charged us in the 1000's.Now we are being bounced back to different offices within the ATT corp, as nobody has the power over that decision it seems ATT doesn't want to reinburse us back to our now, over the limit visa. The unfortunate thing is we need this plan. No other cell carriers honor the North American plan which covers US, Mexico, Caribean, Canada and Alaska. We have to pay because they will ruin our credit. We have notated the account as not paying until they sort it out and it cannot effect our credit until we reach an agreement
i have a motorola razor phone , bought at wal mart ,? daughter used it on t mobile account , anyone know how to unlock it so i can use it on att cingular ?
Is there someone who works for Cingular (AT&T Wireless) who is willing to help me with my issue? Basically, I'm an AT&T customer who recently relocated from California to Texas. I don't want to change my number since I've had it for so long. I want to add a line to my account under the add a line terms ($9.99 additional/mo; FamilyTalk share existing minutes pool incl rollover) however apparently I can't do that unless I want to have the new number be a California number. I plan to use the additional line for business purposes, so having a local number is important. Here is the email I sent to AT&T Customer Service after I spent 57 minutes speaking to various representatives trying to work this out: "Currently, I have one line on a Nationwide plan. I would like to add a like to this plan for business use. Recently, I relocated from California to Texas. Apparently, my usage area is still referencing California and this causes problems when I would like to add a line with a local (Texas) number. Here is what I need. I need to add a line to my account. Changing my existing phone number is not an option. I do not feel that it is reasonable to circumvent your system limitation by having two seperate accounts thus paying 2-3 times as much as I should if I were able to simply add a line. I've been with Cingular (AT&T) for some time and would like to continue to patronize you guys as a customer, however, if a compromise is not available, I will be forced to search for another carrier who will be able to accomodate me. I'd be more than willing to create a second account with the local information as long as I'd only be charged the $9.99/mo that I would normally be charged for adding a line." Personally, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for a compromise. If in order to handle my request, I have to have a sperate account, I should be able to get it discounted. Looking at the rate plans available with AT&T, I'd have to pay around $30 a month to have service I could (and am entitled to) for only $10 a month. Why should I be punished because of their system limitations? Here is the response I got from the Customer Service department: "Dear Mr. xxxxxx, Thank you for taking the time to e-mail AT&T regarding adding a line to your account with a Texas phone number and keep your California number. I understand the importance of getting information on adding a line to your account. My name is Mary Sheppard, and I am happy to help you with your inquiry. Unfortunately, the only way to add a line to your account would be to relocate your California phone number to Texas. We are not able to have phone numbers for different markets on the same account. The only other option is have a separate account with the Texas phone number and the $9.99 additional line price would not apply to an individual line account. If you would like to complete relocation, please be advised of the following: 1. A new account and wireless number will be activated 2. A new SIM is required and will be sent to the customer by the Relocation Department 3. A credit evaluation is NOT required for Relocations 4. A contract extension is not required to complete relocation Exception: if the customer chooses to upgrade their plan and/or equipment, a contract extension may be required If a customer has a converted account, an equipment upgrade will be performed by the relocation team prior to the relocation 5. Rate plan, equipment and rollover minute eligibility will be determined at the time the relocation is processed In order to process your relocation we will need for you to contact our relocations department. The number to this department is (800)826-7356. The hours of operations are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 11:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 10:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. I hope the information provided has been helpful. If you would like assistance with a new question in the future, please log in to your myWireless Account again and send a new email. To send your request via email, please follow these steps: 1. Log in to your "My Wireless" page on att.com/wireless 2. AT&T Online Customer Care is unable to assist with email requests unless these requests are submitted via the MyWireless section of ATT.com/wireless. If you follow these steps to email us, this will make sure your email was submitted properly and that you will get a response to your question. We are here to assist you. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way. Mr. xxxxxx, I have noticed that per your account you have been with us since 09/08/2002 and I want to thank To the first responder: I'm pretty sure you don't know how cell sites work, but roaming (as we all know it) doesn't exist anymore. All the carriers leapfrog off each others towers for a minimal fee and although there is a fee, it's nominal as it goes both ways. Now, is it really unfair for me to ask to keep my number? Furthermore, was that really the basis of my question? I'm not asking for another California number, thus having two cell phones 'roaming 24/7/365' I want a local 'non-roaming' number at the price (or close to) I'm entitled two if I had a local account. Here is my point, currently I work for a bank (a big one) and when a customer moves from say New York to Texas, we can't link new accounts (Texas) to their existing card. Nor can the system even acknowledge they exist for pricing. So what do we do? We open any new account (when they need it) and waive the charges that would be waived if they were linked. Inconvenient but a compromise. Good customer service. See?
AT&T took my IMEI but didnt give unlock code. Can I unlock the same RAZR or can they block based on IMEI ? I have an old ATT(blue) account and recently got a new Cingular (Orange) Razr from a friend. I thought it would automatically work, but it didn't. I called ATT and after 2 hrs they told me that even if they give me the "Unlock code/Subsidy password" the new phone wouldn't work because its "made" for the new Orange network. They also took my IMEI by first saying that they can give me the code. Now, my question is, even if I get it unlocked from a shop or Ebay, would it still work? or because ATT now has my IMEI, they can permanently lock that device from connecting to their network? Secondly, what would be a good source to unlock it myself...? Thanks
How to take out the Lg Vu sim card? HELP? My dad just got an Lg Vu on his account (we have at&t), we had to get it on his account, but we bought it for me. Since my dad hasn't gotten a new phone since cingular they had to send an att sim card in with it. It got here and i'm trying to get the sim card out but it won't come out. Did they like glue it in there so you can't do that? Ive googled and haven't seen anything about this...
I need help..does anyone have answers? My friend just gave me a cell phone that she hasn't really used. Its practically brand new, but the service is turned off. It's a cingular phone, but I've been told that they've merged with ATT. My credit is less than perfect, so I opted for one of the prepaid Hargray accounts...unlimited minutes...but Hargray doesn't service my kind of cell phone because this phone uses a "sim" card. Are there any companies that does "sim card" thing, and also has the prepay on price a month plan without a contract? I live in Georgia.
